We reap what we sow

The SRN website has a fantastic body of resources which we are always looking to expand. Last year we added SRN Member, Polly Hudon’s article ‘We reap what we sow, embodiment and urban gardening’ which appeared in Part 1: autumn- late winter edition of the Ruuku Journal (2021).

In this article Polly gives an insight into her year long project in an allotment in Birmingham. The article is peppered with beautiful photographs illustrating the changing scenery of the earth she is nurturing.

“The enquiry is situated between gardening, autoethnography, dance and somatic practice. It ponders issues of when an activity becomes art, and of how embodiment is illuminated by a relationship with the earth and with plants.”
