Georgia Paizi (she/her) is a choreographer and kinesiologist. Georgia lives and works in Athens/Greece, where she teaches, writes, makes, and curates COCHLEA studia.
She has extensive experience in self-care & organic training methods in the performing arts, with her practices focusing on recent collective efforts for decolonizing touch in hands-on techniques as well as restoring consent & inclusion in workplaces and training environments. Georgia is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique (LCATT, London 2014-2017) and the Skinner Releasing Technique (SRN, Glasgow 2023-2024), while she is the first Greek professional to specialize as an Intimacy Coordinator (IDC, certification pending April 2025). Georgia is an ARTWORKS/SNF fellow 2021 in the field of choreography, while in 2024 she was nominated for the British Council UK Alumni Award 2024 in the Arts.
As a choreographer Georgia works with COCHLEA res (MUTE/2022, Audible Dances/2021, Things my Hands Sea/2020). Georgia is artistic & pedagogy director of the 9-month international program G.E.B.B. | guts | eyes | bones | boundaries [former SYANASKi], a multidisciplinary program on movement, body, and contemporary dance practices with the participation of twenty dance artists/teachers of certified techniques. COCHLEA res receives state & institutional funding since 2020.
Georgia teaches the Alexander Technique, the Skinner Releasing Technique, anatomy, and kinaesthetic voicework since 2017 in the professional training of the performer in Greece, London and Berlin, has presented the AT in a number of Higher Institutions and University courses, and has published a short text on shifting her teaching towards the digital during the pandemic in the Theatre, Dance and Performance Training journal.
