The space you foster & fill with deeply researched, well-loved, embodied knowledge is endlessly spacious & accepting, so much a part of what helps us feel we can let go. Alexx Schilling, OSF teacher, certified 2019
We at Open Source Forms (OSF) are planning an OSF Advanced Teacher Training for certified OSF & SRT teachers in 2026. We envision this six-day program in a respectful, collaborative atmosphere, to pass on a wealth of rarely-taught material, and to practice creating classes at this level. As well, we plan to take advantage of the creative state in which we find ourselves to dabble, seriously-easefully-joyfully, in performance-making: a time to truly experiment, with options for showings along the way.
OSF was instigated in 2009 by Stephanie Skura, current Seattle-area resident, internationally-known innovative choreographer, and long-time SRT core faculty member and SRT teacher trainer. In the late 90s, she re-configured, along with Joan Skinner, the SRT Teacher Certification Program. The only still-practicing SRT teacher who worked closely with Joan Skinner for over a decade, Stephanie feels a special responsibility, while she is still alive and working, to pass on crucial insights and understandings gained from this sustained closeness to SRT’s creator.
OSF is deeply rooted in and fluidly expanded from Skinner Releasing Technique. The advanced material features new alignment insights, deeper depths, rich navigation of deep states, transporting imagery. It’s where the Introductory work is heading, and is vital to our understanding of the entire body of work Joan Skinner did not intend Advanced SRT to be codified or limited to 12 ‘Ongoing’ classes; she gave us a wealth of additional material. Our advanced OSF sessions are culled from decades of notes, explorations, & advanced material passed on by Joan & other SRT veterans, & integrated with Stephanie‘s evolving improvisational research — material developed & augmented by experienced SRT and OSF teachers during the past 25 years. We at OSF are the only ones on the planet, that we know of, currently creating classes at this advanced level.
Introductory OSF and SRT work has become much more available in recent years, and more participants are very ready to dive deeper. It’s our dream to train more teachers to create classes at this advanced level.
Though we prefer the in-person experience, we’re planning a ‘hybrid’ program, with online as well as in-person options for those who are unable to travel.
FEES: $923 USD. Hold your place with a deposit by March 15.

During the pandemic, we at OSF instigated several series of online advanced OSF sessions, and have continued ever since. They’ve proved to be life-savers in multiple ways. Being among our community of experienced practitioners & teachers in OSF & Skinner Releasing, assembling virtually for inwardness together, outwardness together, depth, practice, dancing both meditative & wild, & improvisational experiments — has been a great gift. It’s gone a long way towards allowing us to maintain a semblance of sanity amidst world-shifting changes around us, & experience the calm ecstasy of connecting energies.
Ever-evolving OSF & SRT practices are vital pathways toward wholeness, sanity, & creative empowerment in our increasingly challenging political climate. Though our lives are busy, we’re grateful for opportunities to bend (supplely) toward that which feeds our souls.
