Florence Peake has taught SRT consistently since she certified in 2004. Florence currently teaches SRT at Surrey University as part of the Dance degree program and has taught SRTon many programs at Middlesex University, Laban, Coventry University, Brunel, Central School of Speech and Drama. She has taught SRT nationally in a variety of contexts adapting the classes for different purposes. She has been invited to teach internationally at Dance Mission, San Francisco, Academy for cultural studies in Riga Latvia and Dansinord Sweden. Florence recently certified as an Ongoing SRT teacher.
As well as her SRT teaching practice, Florence teaches Contemporary dance technique, improvisation, cross art form practice extensively.
As a dance artist, Florence Peake creates work of an interdisciplinary nature. Her artistic practice includes the use of drawing, painting and sculpture materials combined with found, appropriated and fabricated objects in relationship to the moving body. Her collaborative work with Sally Dean (Duets for Objects) researched SRT and performance. Her work has been performed nationally and internationally. Florence has also been running a series of workshops, Materials for Making based on her artistic practice.
As a dancer and performer she has worked with a wide variety of filmmakers, Choreographers, Performance artists and Visual artists; Gaby Agis, Mirranda Pennell, Minnie Wieze, Serena Korda, Eddie Peake, Nicola Conibere, Joe Moran, Jane Turner, Robin Deacon and Gary Stevens.
