This course is a unique opportunity to follow in French classes 1 to 5 of Joan Skinner’s method, the Skinner Releasing Technique.
Class 1: Friday 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. / Classes 2 and 3: Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. / Classes 4 and 5: Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Skinner Releasing Technique is a progressive pedagogy created by Joan Skinner in the late sixties in the United States. Still little known in France, it is both a dance technique and a somatic practice placing imagination at the heart of learning.
Poetic images awaken, arouse, and alter spontaneous movement. Rigorously structured, each class is a changing geography that resonates beyond the studio.

This workshop offers the first five classes of the introductory cycle, it is aimed at professional dancers, actors, or anyone curious about movement. The Skinner Releasing Technique is radical, inclusive and rigorously transformative.
Cléo Tabakian is a dancer, designer and teacher based in Marseille. Graduated from the Laban Conservatoire of Dance in London in 2018, her dance practice dialogues with somatics and martial arts. A certified teacher in Skinner Releasing Technique, she is largely influenced by this holistic approach. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris, her graphic work offers baroque images of the physical self. In a book in progress, Movement Speculation, her drawings are assembled with fragments of an epic poem composing, what she calls, an Anatomy of Transformation.
