Artist information
Born in Puerto Rico in 1967 and a New Yorker from 1989 to 2010 when she moved to France, DD Dorvillier’s artistic work finds its balance between the exploration of the sensitive body, choreographic construction, philosophy and language. She is a dance-maker, a performer, a teacher, a filmmaker, a gardener. Since her first classes with Joan Skinner, the SRT approach has been a keystone to her creative visioning and process. She became a certified SRT teacher in 94/95. In 2020, with the composer Sébastien Roux, she created La Corvette, a multidisciplinary research and creation space in Côte d’Or, France. www.humanfuturedancecorps.org
Joe Moran (he/him) is a British-Irish artist and choreographer with a wide-ranging practice incorporating performance, film and choreographic drawing, alongside projects in advocacy, curating and participation. His work centres the body and embodied presence as a site of complex subjectivities and political unrest, with queering frequently deployed as its principal critical strategy. Joe is based in London and works widely in gallery and visual art contexts, alongside making works for the stage and in film in the UK and internationally, most recently presenting live iterations of his film Materiality Will Be Rethought at Le Musée Transitoire, Paris and Institut del Teatre, Barcelona. Joe has an extensive teaching, facilitation and mentoring practice that is deeply informed by his practice of SRT, in which he trained to teach at both the Introductory (2006) and Ongoing (2011) levels. www.joemorandance.com
