Information
This 1-day workshop offers an introduction to the key principles of Skinner Releasing Technique and their application in improvising and composing.
Following the morning SRT class, releasing principles will inform and inspire the improvisational work in the afternoon.
As we engage with a fluid awareness, and follow the pathways of movement traveling through the body, the flow of attention and energy provides ease and clarity within our actions. We are ready to walk, roll, fall, curl, fold, dive, jump, fly… Listening to the ongoing interplay of our imagination and action, we can participate fully in the material we create while dancing and composing.
This workshop is part of Reshuffling Dance – 17-22 September, a unique week – curated by Tuva Hildebrand / Platform for Improvisation, Somatics and Artistic Research , touching on topics such as dance history and lineage, dancer as a living archive, philosophy, politics and community. A celebration of dance as research, art and a way of living.
