This weekend workshop, held at the unique HONOLULU dance space in Nantes, will offer an intensive exploration of Classes 1 to 5 of the Skinner Releasing Technique pedagogy. Led by Ayşe Orhon and Cléo Tabakian, the sessions will be conducted primarily in French, with some portions in English, the original language of the technique. Known for its focus on both dance and somatic practices, HONOLULU will provide the setting for the first-time introduction to the Skinner Releasing Technique.

Created by Joan Skinner in the late 1960s in the United States and rarely taught so far in France, Skinner Releasing is both an improvisation method and a somatic practice. It places imagination at the heart of learning, where poetic images awaken, alter, and influence spontaneous movement. Each class is a shifting landscape that resonates within and beyond the studio. This workshop is aimed at professional dancers, actors, improvisers or anyone curious about movement and imagination.
