Bern – 5-Day Intensive (Classes 11-15) Expanding awareness – Embodying intuition

This 5-day intensive course  at the spacious studio of akar Zeitgenössischer Tanz in Bern, combines SRT with the compositional work of Instant Composition. It invites dancers, performers, teachers, and movement enthusiasts with prior CI experience to deepen their releasing practice and expand their compositional skills.

Mornings:
Each morning starts with an SRT class (exp. 11-15) of the Introductory series of 2,5 – 3 hours.

Afternoons:
The respective releasing principles inform the compositional practice in the afternoon where we create improvised solos, duets and dance pieces in smaller or larger groups.

The main focus is the connection between our awareness and intuition in dancing and composing. Listening with the whole body allows awareness to expand in multiple directions at once – internally toward sensations and movement, and externally toward space, time, and the presence of other(s) – creating a living field of possibilities and imagination. Within this openness, intuition arises not as something mysterious, but as an embodied knowing: a felt sense that sharpens our awareness and guides us with ease and immediacy toward the next move, phrase, or place. Trusting these choices, even when they feel less familiar, allows the many layers of meaning to emerge, keeping the dance alive and continuously evolving. Dancing and performing then become acts of listening, being present and sharing.
