Information
This 5-day intensive workshop combines the poetic and integrative method of Skinner Releasing Technique with the compositional work of Instant Composition. It is open to dancers, performers, dance teachers and movement lovers of all levels who have already (some) previous experience in SRT and wish to deepen and expand their technical, compositional and creative skills.
Mornings: Each morning starts with a SRT class of the Introductory Series (classes 6-10) of 2,5 – 3 hours.
Afternoons: The respective releasing principles will inform the compositional practice in the afternoon where we will create improvised solos, duets and dance pieces in smaller or larger groups.
The main focus will be stillness and space as two fundamental elements of our dancing that can open new layers in how we perceive our movement and read the composition that unfolds.
Becoming aware of our relationship with the ground and tuning into our breathing, we experience volume, weight and buoyancy of our body, and can connect to the ongoing flux of movement and stillness in our inner landscape and in surrounding space.
Stillness and space with their different layers allow us to notice what is already there and to be with it. They invite our imagination to guide our dancing and composing, and foster the performative potential of the intuitive, musical and poetic body in motion.

As this week proposes later material of the SRT Introductory Level (class 6 – 10) , participants should have some experience in SRT. If you would like to participate but you are not sure about your experience or for any other questions, please send an email to info@bettinaneuhaus.com
