Following rewarding experiences holding Open Source Forms programs ONLINE VIA ZOOM during and after the pandemic, we’re offering another series of six two-hour weekly online Advanced Practice OSF Sessions, Sundays, 10 am – noon Seattle time.
Pre-requisites: For those who’ve experienced the full spectrum (3 consecutive weeks) of Introductory OSF or SRT
We learned that we can indeed feel in-community despite inhabiting far-flung environments. That we experience rewarding levels of intimacy, adventure, trust & compassion. And that with a playful approach to screens, we find new forms while avoiding the dreaded ‘zoom fatigue.’ For many, this community serves as psychic lifeline during challenging times.
Advanced OSF material is deeply rooted in & fluidly expanded from advanced Skinner Releasing practice. It’s where OSF/SRT Introductory work is headed! New alignment insights, new depths, more & deeper deep-states, transporting imagery. Joan Skinner did not intend Advanced SRT to be codified or limited to 12 ‘Ongoing’ SRT classes. She left us with a wealth of material not included in those 12 classes. Our advanced sessions are culled from material passed on by SRT creator Joan Skinner & early practitioners, & integrated with Skura’s/OSF’s improvisational research. This level of the practice is sophisticated, deep, and evolved in alignment approaches — richly navigating states below conscious level. Stephanie is the only still-practicing facilitator who worked closely alongside Joan Skinner for over a decade, & had the precious opportunity, to roam inside Joan’s brilliant mind with questions & curiosities. We’re the only SRT or OSF teachers on the planet, that we know of, currently creating classes at this advanced level !
Participant numbers are limited to ensure responsible facilitation. Hold your place by registering for the whole series at a discount, or register in advance for single sessions.

“This work feels like an antidote to many of the difficulties I’m currently facing physically, emotionally and practically. I felt so open and easeful when I got back. I love your approach to sharing the work as well. Unpretentious, sincere and expert!” Aura Fishbeck, dancer/choreographer
“OSF changed my life. Your work is so rich in all directions! From technical matters to the creative process, amazing range of wisdom, and fun ways to make it happen! Jadi Carboni, OSF certified teacher, 2025
Stephanie developed OPEN SOURCE FORMS (OSF) after twelve years as core Skinner Releasing faculty and teacher-trainer, & decades of radical performance practice. Taking time for depth of technique to catalyze creative work, OSF sessions offer tools to access freedom, specificity & courage in movement, vocal practice, & performance. These days, Skura considers her work as ‘compassionate planetary activism’ and is grateful to be part of a community dedicated to creative empowerment as instigator of positive change on the planet. Skura’s non-fiction and poetic writings have appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers, as well as the books Oxford University Press Handbook on Improvisation in Dance; Skinner Releasing Technique, a Movement and Dance Practice; and Reimaging America, the Arts of Social Change. A former New Yorker directing a touring dance company, she now lives in the American Pacific Northwest.
“Bessie Award-winning Stephanie Skura is widely noted not only for her long career as a performer, maker, and teacher of post-modern dance but for being a magical catalyst for other artists’ creativity. In today’s talk, she shares how her imaginative practice, called scores, opens up liberating possibilities. For Skura, dance is a path to consciousness; a method to access the balancing, healing capacity of intuition; a way to play her role in repairing the world.
